Why am I writing this series? I'm exploring love between the traumatized, found family, the heroism of the damned, what it means to fight for an idea in the modern world, and the meaning of hope in a time when that emotion is in short supply.

I am a Brazilian-American Brooklyn boy, husband, stay-at-home dad, Wesleyan University grad, retired officer of Marines, and veteran of five combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan living in Virginia near Quantico.

I'd love to hear from you! Go to the "Contact" page and drop me a line via e-mail or the contact form.

When I'm not writing I do lots and lots of laundry. Two kids make piles of the stuff. I also hike and camp the mountains of Virginia, gravel bike, and sea kayak. I'm an avid student of history, military and otherwise, and read classic science fiction and fantasy every chance I get.

What I'm reading to my kids right now: Rama Revealed
